Thank you, guests! Now, don't we give out special prizes for milestones like this; I think I've got a toaster or pony or something coming my way for the 1000th post. If you guests don't register and tell us who you are, you'll miss out on your prize!
C'mon!

Actually, Shane.. since it *was* a geek that first thought up the 1000 post prize thing.. we've decided it is going to be a
virtual toaster.

Guests: please register and let us know who you are. You don't have to type a word, enter an email address or answer anyone, but let us know who'd visiting, please. There are 4 of you on the board right now...

Shane et al,
It's very possible that the guests are actually registered users that are logged in from another computer and don't even realize they are not logged in. It could also be simple things like google bots indexing the site.

It's more like
free beer. Sounds great, but it doesn't really exist.

Yeah, I know. But I also know there are people who've been checking out the board who, for whatever reason, don't want to register.
I guess bullying doesn't work. Think I'll just let'em be

I've noticed there have been as many as 10 guests on at one time. Most users on at one time is up to 20 now! I wish there was a stat that said most "members" on at one time.

Many of the "Guests" are actually bots spidering the site for search engines.

Search engines like Google have little programs 'crawling' (going from site to site) the web called 'bots'. The bots, grab a copy of all the content on the pages they visit, and report that data back to the search engines (spidering). The search engine then parses (sifts thru) that data, indexes it, and makes it available to the world.
