Just got word that we have COMP tickets to the football game Friday night and we'll have our own reserved section; VIP treatment, folks! You can pick up your tickets at the hospitality tent outside the gate before the game. Get there early; this is going to be a big game in town (CHS looking to hand unbeaten St Paul's their first loss of the season). If you haven't already, or even if you have already, let me know ASAP if you're coming to the game, please.
Also happening Friday night:
This Friday, October 27 during the Columbia Street Block Party in downtown Covington, children of all ages are invited to the St. Tammany Art Association for a special Halloween treat-- an interactive performance with award-winning educator, director and performing artist Frank Levy.
Gathering an audience in the courtyard of STAA at 7 p.m., Levy leads audience members in an impromptu staging of a humorous play, "The Dragon and the Knight". All ages are welcome and props and costumes will be provided?just show up and join in the fun. Volunteers will also be on hand to sign up children, teens and adults for a variety of art classes starting in November.
This will be the last Columbia Street Block Party of the year and the City of Covington will host a Trick-or-Treat walk all around downtown. At 8pm the Scream Factory (300 block of Lockwood) showcases the Pin Stripe Brass Band with a jazz funeral march down Columbia Street to The Green Room (521 East Boston) for a full show.
For more info on Frank Levy?s interactive shows, check out his website: http://storiesinmotion.com/.
The party doesn't end after the official events conclude. People will be pub crawling (literally, they'll be going to the Boston Pub, among other places) until all hours.
If you're coming in from out of town, have a safe trip in. We want to see you all here this weekend.
