I just got an email from the class of '87 class that was really concerning. Apparently they haven't had a very good response so far for their reunion. I just think of how much fun we all had at our 20th. I think it would be just terrible if they had to cancel. If anybody down there in the bayou can stir up something for them, please do! This is a snip of the message I got:
Fellow CHS Alumni,
We're kind of reaching critical mass here. We have only six paid couples (12
total people paid) so far and we are only one week away from being 30 days out.
We have to guarantee LA Grill 125 people and there is no way we are going to be
able to do that unless we have everyone register before the September 20th. As
long as we are thirty days or longer out, we can break the contract with them
with no money obligation. Not to mention that we don't have enough money to pay
for DJ's, decorations, door prizes.
PLEASE, everyone, if we don't get everyone to commit either way, we won't have
an official 20 year reunion for the class of 87. This would be a shame.
Thanks Phil for posting this. My sister Cathy is on their reunion committee, and the response has been really disappointing for all involved. If they only could have shared the "magic" from our reunion, everyone would be there!! I'll spread the word as much as I can!
I hope they can get it together and have as good of a time as we did. I spoke to Michelle Smith (Moreland) a few days ago and she said that the response was pretty apathetic and didn't think that they were going to attend....
87's Reunion is still on as planned. Looks like they've received enough responses to move forward. Any 86'ers -- they're still having the Friday night mixer at Friends if anyone is interested in attending.
dude, I feel like this is last year when we were getting ready for our reunion. I was so psyched! I hope they had a good time. The best was seeing people that had spread out all over the world and travelled back for that one reason... to get back in touch. Amazing....
