Mardi Gras 2007

Post by Julie Mathies »

Time to think about Carnival!! Fat Tuesday will be here soon -- 02/20/07

For those of you avid Mardi Gras goers, I'm currently in the process of posting the 2007 Parade Schedule on the New Class Site. Check the calendar there for parade dates & times. Visit NOLA.com for parade routes.

PHIL - thanks for helping me do that...your instructions were PERFECT! :D

Anyone got any plans yet?? Maybe we can designate a meeting spot for some of the parades. Any thoughts??

My family and I will be Uptown this year, as we are every year for Mardi Gras weekend. Down near Tchoupitoulous, where the parades start. We have friends who live on the route and let us stay with them. And we try to get the French Qtr on Mardi Gras, if we can. If anyone's planning on being in that neck of the woods, let me know.

I'm also going to have the privilege of riding in the Krewe of Hermes parade this year (Friday before Mardi Gras). The same friend we're staying with is a member and rides every couple of years. There were a few spots open and he invited me. I've always wanted to see a parade from that perspective and I can't wait! If you're going to see that one, let me know where you'll be.

Happy Mardi Gras, everyone!

They plan on having a 'Mardi Gras parade' in Buffalo again this year. I wonder if it will have 6 floats this year.

John and I will be in the Quarter/Marigny on Mardi Gras Day (withOUT kids  ), and on the avenue at Marengo for Bacchus week-end with the WHOLE Family. Endymion rolls again this year uptown on Sat. evening. It was fantastic last year seeing Bacchus and Endymion back to back. Tucks (my FAV parade) is Sat. afternoon and always fun. We are on the street car side. Look for the super special purple double ladder with built in cup holders. Seriously, you can't miss us.

My parents were in the Krewe of Caesar in Metairie for a few years and they loved it. They said it was definitely an experience to remember. You will have a blast!

We've had a couple already. The kids are all over them when they see them. We'd have one in the house every day if it were up to them.

Then they fight over the baby... <sigh>

I doubt Colin has had King Cake yet. We've never been over during Mardi Gras.

But he did set up a Mardi Gras Tree this year......

I love king cake!! Probably why it's almost impossible to start a diet as a New Year's resolution. And, I like the cream cheese filled ones....the ones that are really fattening.

Hey Sheri -- I saw you this morning by the coffee shop on Tyler, and it just clicked.....Cambell's Coffee....yours by any chance??

King Cakes....

Post by illenbergerj »

I've tried for a few years to get companies to send king cakes over here, but since they're perishable, the always cancel!! :(
