80s Music

For most of the music I listened to in the 80's, the above sums it up. The 60's and 70's. Yeah, there were some scatterings of good rock in the 80's - but come on - I *don't* listen to Motley Crue at all any more, but Sabbath, Zep, Floyd, Nugent, Aerosmith, ZZ Top?? I still listen to that on a regular basis.

So to the question of best 80's music? 70's music.

I would have to say, the best 70's beats the best 80's hands down.....But they both have some excellent songs to rock/chill/hang to, depending on mood. But it definately beats what I'm listening to on the radio over here right now......

British radio sucks.......

You know I am going to second that, Jerry....my favorite station in the US was always NPR or Smooth Jazz.....I miss it....all I hear over here is the same exact disco/high energy beat in every song....I am going to attempt to introduce some Buffett to the Brits...I love Buffett.

Phil....yes! Floyd was the best....I remember memorizing every song to The Wall.

Last year, a few of us from work went to see the "Rock Never Stops" tour with Firehouse, Quiet Riot, Ratt and Cinderella. Rock truly never does stop.

Ok, I need some clarification here. Is this thread for 80's music? Or, what we listened to in the 80's? Cause I was still listening to 60's and 70's stuff, too. Beatles, Stones, Eagles, Queen, Styx, etc.

BTW, one idea, depending on budget, etc. for the next reunion would be to book a good 80's cover band like the Chee Weez.

And sooner or later, I'd like to hear what's loaded up in everybody's iPod's now, regardless of the musical era, but perhaps we should start a new thread for that.
